very uteresung noODy. Two
years ago Dennis wrote to the
President John F. Kennedy re-
questing a picture. Dennis soon
received a letter of reply from
Mr. Kennedy and several pic-
tures. This was the beginning
of a widely varied correspond-
ence for Dennis. He has kept
all letters and pictures in a
scrapbook. Dennis says he enjoys
reading these letters and they
have helped him in his schoolwork
due to the fact that they are from
so many different countries. The
letters and pictures n Dennis's
scrapbook bear the signature of
the following:
John F. Kennedy
Robert Kennedy

An outstanding item in this col-
lection is a Christmas Card which
Dennis received from President
Nasser.
Each one of these busy people
have replied personally to Dennis
thanking him for his letter and
extending their best wishes to him
for success in his life and the
continuation of his hobby. Dennis
has written to a very few famous
persons who have not replied
but he still hopes to hear from
them and plans to write more
letters to other noted personali-
ties.
Dennis is the thirteen year old
son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lee
of Sunset Gardens, Wintersville.
The Lees have three other child-
ren, Albert Jr., Wendy and Kim,
all of whom are students in
Wintersville Schools.
Dennis is also an ardent stamp
collector. He attends the Win-
tersville Baptist Temple. After
his graduation from High School,
Dennis plans to continue his
studies and eventually become
affiliated with the F.B.I.
It was very pleasant to inter-
view Dennis Lee and interesting
to learn of his uncommon hobby.
The course is being offered
through the Ohio Trade and In-
dustrial Education Service, Di-
vision of Vocational Education.

Tax Rate Increases
Michael E. Entinger, County
Treasurer, explained today that
taxes are higher in many cases
due to either an increase in tax
rate, or an increase in valuation
of property or both.
Many taxing districts tax rates
have increased due to levies
which were passed by the voters
of that particular district. There
can be no decrease in this rate
as established. TAXES CANNOT
BE INCREASED BY ANY
COUNTY OFFICIAL--ONLY BY
VOTE OF THE PEOPLE.
In the case of increase in valua-
tion - All properties in the County
were appraised for taxation pur-
poses by the firm of Cole-Layer-
Trumbull, according to law.
These new figures were used
for the first time this December
for the collection of taxes. Any
taxpayer who feels that the new
valuation is in error may come
to the Transfer Office in the
basement of the Court House
to check their appraisal record.
If after carefully checking, he
still feels the valuation of his
property is too high, he may
file a Complaint with the Board
of Revisions for a hearing. The
County Auditor, Stephen J.
Hamrock, the County Treasurer,
Michael Entinger, and the Chair-
man of the Board of County
Commissioners, Russell Hesske
are the three members of the
Board of Revisions.
