Pekhrun Reports On Boy's State
Wintersville Village Council Has Light Agenda
John Ford, president of Coun-
cil, presided at the regular meet-
ing on Tuesday evening.
Solicitor Richard Powell read
ordinances which will be acted
upon at a future meeting as fol-
lows:
An amendment to Ordinance 41,
which regulates burning and is-
suance of burning permits;
Anordinance creating the posi-
tion of sergeant in the police
department.
An ordinance establishing asal-
ary schedule for employees of a
$10.00 per month raise after
three years of service and a
$15.00 raise after five years of
service.
It was announced that statements
of sewer assessments had been
mailed. Payments will be re-
ceived at the office of the Village
Clerk, Delbert Vance, 758 Main
Street, Wintersville.
John Lenhart, Chairman of the
Board of Public Affairs present-
ed several problems regarding
sewer construction.
Mr. Ford presented the monthly
report of the Police Department
which was submitted by Chief
Victor Calabrese.
Council ordered that the or-
dinance requiring the clearing
of lots, grown over with weeds
be enforced. Fire Chief Willard
Ekey warned that these lots be-
come a serious fire hazard dur-
ing the fall season.
The next regular Council meet-
ing will be on Tuesday, Septem-
ber 20. 1966 at 7:30 p.m. at the
Municipal Building.
